im learning with a driving instructor and had 5 hours so fare… ive tried it in the cars we have at home but i cannot grasp them cars at all! And when i do get in the car with my mum and dad they think i can not do it but i can with the instructor its really annoying me! why carnt i my mum and dads cars up?

UK theory test…are they increasing? please help!?

Ive heard a rumour that the amount of questions in the UK driving theory test is set to increase from 35 to 75 questions…please tell me whether this is true, and please can you be sure
also, when will they change if it is changing
i know that there is a hazard perception test but im unsure about the number of theory questions…even the DSA website doesnt say it but i got the info from a driving instructor – thanks x

Why do I have to pass my driving theory test?

It is severely fucking me off. I have been revising for ages and ages, just about there with hazard perception (clicking the computer screen and scoring points on potential hazards), but I am HATING the mock tests for theory. Why cant the pass mark be lower? Driving instructor says am not a bad driver, so why do we have to sit there at a computer and answer boring questions on driving? Eg why do I need to know how fast a mobility buggy goes or what child seat restraint to use. Waste of time, seeing as I have my Human Biology to concerntrate on. Why were these irritating tests brought in? And why cant the test mark be lower? I’ve been getting 77% in the mocks. I actually feel like thumping my boyfriend when he boasts smugly that when he sat his test in the early 90s all he had to do was look at a few signs and get them right, none of this stupid computer rubbish. Am getting so wound up with it, help please!

I hear you Snozboz, but why should the DSA make us wound up to the point of where we stress, all cos of some idiots who cant drive a car?

how to deal with a competitive sibling?

My sister is outrageously comptetitive. We aren’t kids, we’re both in our 30′s. I started my own jewellery business & she got hold of my paperwork & ordered her own supplies (from my list of contacts) & then contacted all my customers & undercut me. She made a loss but she still managed to put me out of business.

She calls me a ‘smug, arrogant b!tch’ & accuses me of bragging about things that I’ve never even done. I deliberately didn’t tell anyone when I passed my driving test as I knew how she would react but she called my driving instructor (she stole my mobile phone to get the number) & then told our mum that I was ‘rubbing her face in it’ but I wasn’t, I’d not even told anyone bcz I was scared of being accused of that in the first place!

Her husband made a pass at me & I told him to ‘get lost’ but she told our family that it was the other way around and then she faked a miscarriage & said that it was due to the stress of what I had done to her. She accused me of ‘murdering’ her unborn child but she wasn’t even pregnant! She has stolen the key to my house and placed female underwear in my bedroom & sent me ‘anonymous’ letters claiming that my husband is ‘having an affair’ & told our parents that the only reason I’m with my (Asian) husband is that I’m ‘not pretty enough to get a white man’

I’m at a loss. How can I deal with this? She’s driving me crazy I feel like I’m on the verge of a breakdown here… I can’t even reason with her as she seems like she’s out of touch with reality & I can’t get through to her. Why is she doing this? What should I do? It’s always been the same way though. She’s been like this since we were children. I’m 2 years older than her.
As for our parents, our father is a raging alcoholic & doesn’t even know what day it is, & our mother is dying of cancer. It’s days not weeks.

Our brother just says ‘Oh you know what she’s like’ but that doesn’t help at all. Her husband is a paedophile & she’s had her 5 children taken away bcz the law won’t allow them to be in the same house as him but she won’t leave him & I think she loves him more than anyone else. I do love her but I don’t know how to connect with her and make it work. At this rate I’m just going to cut her out of my life but our mum is dying and she wants us two to ‘get back together’ before she dies.

and seem to have many accidents?

I am sure there are some girls who also drive recklessly, but why is it that some lads in the UK (between the ages of 17-25) are very reckless drivers (and no disrespect to the careful male drivers in this age group).

Just been informed by a friend that there was alot of police out in the village where I live when not at uni. Reason being a 17 year old boy was racing his friends on the main roads in their cars. One of their cars then skidded off the road and hit a tree. Surprised nobody was killed, as over 6 years ago, a boy who was in my school, got really drunk and carried passengers in the back off his car, again, the car skidded and there was a fatality.

I am a 23 year old woman, and when I passed my test last year, my driving instructor said I was at an advantage for my insurance, since I was female, plus older.

With no disrespect to the careful and safe younger drivers who drive carefully and courteously, is there no way that lads in this age bracket can not be permitted to drive, or have to undergo extensively testing by the DVLA?

Last year I came out of an MoT centre after having my car done, and this boy racer came up behind me and tailgated me when I was driving through town and sticking to the speed limit. His gestures in the mirror were obscene and he was very intimidating. I dont think people like him should be allowed to drive.

I am sure there are silly young females who behave recklessly in cars, but why do you always hear about men in the 17-25 age bracket who crash or have accidents all the time?
Erskine- Did you read my question correctly? I did say there were young male drivers who were safe and courteous drivers.. just sadly it seems to be a common occurance that many drive recklessly at that age.
Random- I am not saying I am perfect, yes, I should probably look all round me before setting off now instead of a quick glance, but I stick with the guidelines I was taught in my lessons; keep a good distance back from the car in front- if they brake suddenly, then you wont have to either. And seeing as I am in the "two year rule" eg if I get a certain number of points on my license within two years, I will have to retake my theory and practical. I worked hard to get both, and dont really want to again, ta!

my driving instructor said the same its cos males as toddlers spend alot of there time on ride on toys and girls spend alot of time playing with dolls i think they are a couple of sexist pigs is there any truth in it ?
